RSB is responsible for providing the different reference viral and bacterial strains used as positive controls in the evaluation of vaccines and requested by other departments of CLEVB.
Reference viral strains were propagated on SPF-Embryonated Chickens Eggs or susceptible type of cell culture and then other tests were conducted, such as Titration, Sterility, Testing for Extraneous Viruses and PCR.
Reference bacterial strains were cultured on susceptible media, confirmed biochemically by Vitek-2 device and Identification by PCR.
RSB distributes different types of cell lines, chicken embryo fibroblast (CEF) and hyperimmune sera hat are requested and used in vaccine evaluation by the other department of CLEVB.
RSB is accredited by EGAC for ISO 17025 in one method: 
* Genomic characterization of different strains using PCR.
