The poultry and animal industry is considered one of the important sources of the national income as represent 23.5% from agriculture income, as well as it is the main source of animal protein of human food.

The Egyptian government is continuing encouragement and supporting this industry in order to insure the safety and protecting of the human food as one of its top priorities.

Due to the recent development in poultry and animal industry, there is high demand of great varieties of efficient veterinary biologics to meet the requirement needed for combating contagious and infectious diseases affecting these industries.

Therefore, strict inspection and evaluation of these biologics is a vital process for protecting this animal industry from introducing and marketing of contaminated and impotent biologics.

In line with these strategies, the control laboratory for evaluation of veterinary biologics was established (Agriculture Research Center board decree No. 291, 1996) as the only official laboratory in the Arab Republic of Egypt that is responsible for all evaluation processes of veterinary biologics (vaccines, serum and antigens). The laboratory was equipped with the most advanced equipment and instrument and provided with highly qualified staff.
