Prof. Dr. Adel Abdel Azim, Head of the Agricultural Research Center, witnessed today, Thursday 7 November 2024, the signing of a joint cooperation protocol between the Central Laboratory for Evaluation of Veterinary Biologics (CLEVB) affiliated to the Agricultural Research Center and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Cairo University. This comes within the framework of the directives of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Sherine Assem, Vice President of the Agricultural Research Center, Prof. Dr. Samir Abdel Moez Abdel Wanis, Director of the Central Laboratory for Evaluation of Veterinary Biologics (CLEVB), and Prof. Dr. Iman Bakr, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Cairo University.
In this context, Prof. Dr. Adel Abdel Azim, Head of the Agricultural Research Center, said that this cooperation aims to develop scientific research in the field of veterinary vaccines, serve the community, and raise the level of veterinarians in the same specialty through twinning between the Central Laboratory for Evaluation of Veterinary Biologics (CLEVB) accredited by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) for the Middle East region and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, also accredited by the same organization for the Middle East region, which leads to unifying scientific efforts and implementing joint scientific projects, distinguished training programs, and specialized international scientific conferences, in addition to joint supervision of scientific theses.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Samir Abdel Moez, Director of the Central Laboratory for Evaluation of Veterinary Biologics (CLEVB), said that joint cooperation is scheduled to begin in three areas:
First area: Research, scientific projects and postgraduate studies:
* Considering the problems facing livestock and poultry in Egypt as the research plan for both parties, which serves and develops livestock and increases its productivity.
* Maximizing the benefit from the laboratory capabilities of both parties while facilitating the conduct of analyses and the use of devices for both parties.
* Exchanging experiences in the field of scientific research through joint supervision of scientific theses.
Second field: Community service and environmental development:
* Holding periodic meetings with all concerned parties in Giza and Cairo governorates to discuss what the two parties can offer in cooperation with civil society institutions and setting a clear mechanism for cooperation.
* Holding joint international scientific conferences.
* Holding seminars and workshops to discuss and find solutions to the challenges facing livestock and poultry in the governorates of the Republic.
* Holding an employment forum and a joint day for graduates in cooperation with both parties.
* Providing a suitable place to establish an incubator for small projects at the Central Laboratory for the Control of Veterinary Biological Preparations.
* Creating distinguished study programs for students that serve the goals of both parties.
Fostering outstanding students and owners of scientific innovations and talents with the support of both parties and civil society.
* Establishing joint-stock companies between the two parties to produce some of what the community needs, especially vaccines and veterinary supplies.
Third field: Training:
* Developing a joint training matrix to qualify trainees for the labor market.
* Preparing a specialized training matrix for employees in companies and factories with the support and cooperation of both parties.
* Exchanging expertise in the field of quality, especially for research laboratories.
* Developing a joint training matrix for students within the summer training program.
* Developing a joint training matrix for young researchers from both parties.
