EVD is responsible for detection of extraneous viruses in living attenuated viral poultry and large animal vaccines either imported or locally produced.

EVD is accredited by EGAC for ISO/IEC 17025 in 4 methods:

* Detection of haemagglutinating agents in attenuated poultry viral vaccines.

* Detection of Avian Leukosis Virus (ALV) in attenuated viral poultry vaccines (ELISA).

* Detection of bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) virus in attenuated viral large animal vaccines using RT-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).

* Detection of chicken anemia virus in live viral poultry vaccines using polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
