IVPVD-1 is responsible for evaluation of inactivated viral poultry vaccines either imported or locally produced vaccines especially Avian Influenza (H5N1) and Newcastle Diseases vaccines either monovalent or bivalent vaccines, besides rabbit, duck, pigeon and turkey viral inactivated vaccines.
The evaluation of these vaccines depends on Identity, Safety, Purity and Potency tests.
The above tests depend on vaccination of different hosts pathway.
The efficacy of each vaccine was detected by challenge test against the corresponding virulent field virus to measure the protection percentage for each vaccine.
IVPVD-1 is accredited by EGAC for ISO 17025 in 4 Methods:
1. Haemagglutination Inhibition test (HI test)
2. Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)
3. Agar Gel Precipitation Test (AGPT)
4. Serum Neutralization Test (SNT)
