BTD is responsible for:

* Identification of live poultry viral, recombinant and vector vaccines either imported or locally produced vaccines.

* Identification of live viral Large and Pet animals vaccine either imported or locally produced vaccines.

The evaluation process depends on isolation of nucleic acid then amplification of specific target sequences using specific primers by using Polymerase chain Reaction either conventional PCR or Real time PCR.

BTD2 is accredited by EGAC for ISO 17025 in 2 methods:

* Identification of live poultry viral, recombinant and vector vaccines.

* Identification of live viral Large and Pet animals vaccine.
