Objectives
* The main objective of the laboratory is to provide support for the animal health programmed that designed by the General Organization of Veterinary Services by testing and evaluating of veterinary biologics as pure, safe and potent.
* Protecting of poultry and animal industries from marketing of contaminated or impotent biologics.
* Issuance of certificates for imported and locally produced veterinary biologics for local use as well as for exportation.
* Conducting researches in the field of evaluation of veterinary biologics with special focusing in biotechnology aiming to develop new, more accurate and effective techniques.
* Testing and evaluation of SPF eggs that are produced by SPF farm at Koom Oshim in Fayoum Governorate, Egypt.
* Cooperating with national and international organization in the field of evaluation of veterinary biologics.
Activities
* Testing and evaluation of all veterinary biologics (vaccines, sera and antigens) imported and locally produced according to the standard protocols of regulations in this respect.
* Issue of certificates for veterinary biologics before being issued for use.
* Identification and characterization of local field isolates using the biotechnology.
* Conducting researches to improve and facilities quality control methods applied for the evaluation of different kinds of veterinary biologics with special focusing on the field of biotechnology.
* The lab had an active development training programs for its doctor staff on the techniques adopted in the field of the evaluation of veterinary biologics (vaccines, serum and antigens) included training in all phases of evaluation involving tests for purity, safety, potency and efficacy as outlined in the standard regulations.
* Training programs for all administration staff in the field of administration, language, computers to improve their administrative levels.
* Supervising on different master and PhD. Degrees in cooperation with different colleges of veterinary medicine.
* Offering training programs and assistance for the bench training of the veterinarians from different college and research institutes in addition to Afro-Asian countries.
